I No Longer Agree with the Theory of Evolution
I have over a period of time lost, or somehow gained, information that developed organically in my thoughts so that I no longer agree with the Theory of Evolution.
One could say that my thoughts have evolved! And they would be correct! Whether my thoughts have evolved in a good way or not is irrelevant!
I don't believe in the Creationist's theories either, although there are two or three very good creationist examples that make sense to me.
However, I have to separate myself from the Creationists because, aside from those two or three examples, they have many, many more beliefs that are absolutely, scientifically proven to be false.
As a side note, Pulitzer prize writer, Minister, dissident, and frequent speaker, Christopher Hedges, was speaking to a large audience and he landed on the topic of Creationists. He stated that he had an opportunity to go on a walking tour in a "Creationist Museum" with other Creationists, so he did! At one point there was a mural that showed dinosaurs living with people, and the leader of the tour said, and this is true, "The dinosaurs had big teeth so they could crack coconuts for the people".
Returning to my argument on why it is, or what happened to me, to not accept the Theory of Evolution as Darwin defined it:
The problem with the Evolution argument, in the general population, is that Evolution and Natural Selection are use interchangeably. This is a false equivalency. They are not the same.
I shall define Evolution and Natural Selection in order to point out their differences and advance my argument.
Evolution is: "A change in "Heritable Traits" of a population over many generations." Heritable Traits refer simply to the DNA of an organism that is passed on to a "child" organism.
Natural Selection states that some organisms will live and thrive due to their color, taste, value to humans, or environmental setting.
Natural Selection occurs when there is a Population – where, due to the organisms' surrounding area, or the organisms color, size, or whether or not it tastes good to other organisms, or it becomes a valuable commodity to humans, the organism declines in numbers.
Ironically, unwanted, untasty, and those organisms with no value to humans, can live, multiply, multiply, and thrive (ex. Nutria, Red Ants, Termites)
Ex. A bird excretes a tan colored seed onto a beach. It is the same color as the sand — no organism notices it. Another bird excretes a dark colored seed onto the sand — it is easily seen by a hungry organism and eaten. The tan colored seed sprouts, sends roots into the sand, and produces more sand-colored seeds. It thrives.
Note that no DNA mutations have occurred in the organism. The change in the population is not due to mutations.
Well what about Survival Of The Fittest you may ask. Another misconception is that "Survival Of The Fittest" (SoF) is the same as Evolution.
Not so. SoF may occur when migrating organisms move into an environment with stronger, more resilient living organisms; just by chance, and perish.
SoF can also occur when a mutation of the organisms DNA results in a beneficial way. That is, the mutant organisms can thrive in the local environment. That brings us to the other mechanism used to support the theory of evolution: Genetic Drift.
Genetic Drift, or a random mutation in an organism's DNA.
